I thought happiness is a target… but it’s not.

Hi… How are you? 🙋 (कैसे हो तुम?) I hope that everything is fine at your end. You know… 😀 I want that you would be happy so that you could listen to me without any distraction because I need you to listen to me. Please be safe and stable, do not worry if you are not. We are still together in happy times or sad. Everything will be fine soon. I know. Do write to me listening@meenakshidangi.com if you want to share something.

Okay… right now it is my turn. 🙂

My whole life I lived a myth that happiness is a target. I put various conditions on happiness. Like if I get good marks in 8th grade I will be happy. And I did get them. But then 9th grade study pressure came in to picture and I was sad again.

In college I thought once I start earning I will be happy and I got a good job. But still I was sad and struggling. And now everyone is saying that do the marriage and you will be happy…

You know what they should not use the word ‘HAPPY’ they should say ‘BUSY’. They should say do the marriage and you will be busy enough to forget about that you need to be happy.

They use wrong terms themselves and teach us also the same thing. They taught us that happiness is a target you have to achieve it.

I am trying for last 34 years but I was still not happy. Then slowly I realized that we can not achieve happiness because it is not a target which we have to run after. 🏃‍♀️

Happiness is a state. 🧘

A state of being. A state of feeling good.

What do you say?
